Established in Brooklyn in 2011 by Raul Arevalo and Brad Schmidt, and recently named “one of the hottest start-up high-fashion labels in the U.S.” by Vogue, CADET is a full menswear collection of suiting, shirts, pants, outerwear and knits that captures the spirit and nostalgia of post-war America. With celebrity fans like Ben Stiller, Usher, Nick Jonas and Anna Wintour, CADET now has three brick-and-mortar locations and a new relationship with Amazon that will begin next spring.
Raul, born in Mexico City, studied menswear design at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City graduating in 1995 after winning the Chairman’s Award for Best Menswear Collection. Raul started his career in Technical Design at Abercrombie and Fitch, later helping a variety of corporations, like Target and Nordstrom, transform the fit and construction of their brand’s apparel.
Brad, originally from Seattle, is the co-CEO of CADET. He manages the retail operations and contributes to the production side through sourcing, production planning and business development.
