Résumé: Moved from Malaysia to attend the Parsons School of Design; established her own design house in New York City in 1981; coined term “urban nomad” with Fall 1997 collection; participated in exhibitions at MIT’s Hayden Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum in London, and American Folk Art Museum New York; published survey of her design house’s first 20 years, entitled YEOHLEE: WORK, in 2003; earned permanent placement in Costume Collection at Metropolitan Museum of Art

Accolades: Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Fashion Design (2004)
